Reiki is essential to my practice. I studied under the final Grand Master Hawayo Takata in 1975, obtaining my first and second degrees in this healing art. By 1993, I became a master, with my mother as my teacher. Since Takata passed in 1980, Reiki has changed, straying from original teachings. After five decades in this practice, I know that authentic lineage is crucial, as teachings can easily distort over time. I am blessed to have two kids I adore - my husband has one I also adore - and we have four grandkids, ages from 9-16. We are rich in family.

I make a vegetable garden every year, though I am not a gardner. Turns out, plants are really smart. Stick them in a sunny bit of earth, water once in a while and voila! Food. Amazing.

I’m an artist, all over the place with my mediums. Currently, I’m loving acrylic markers and making floral portraits. Happy little gardens. So fun. I typically pursue a medium - acrylic, stained glass, sculpture, watercolor, crepe paper (lifelike flowers), silver-smithing, polymer clay, knitting, sewing, cooking - until I’ve learned what I can and then I find a new medium or cycle back to an old one.
